Retha Faye Toler

Retha Faye Toler, 71, of Hanover, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 13, 2021 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born on February 14, 1950, in Welch, WV she was the daughter of the late Norpha Lester. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine England and one brother, Hershel Barlow.

Retha was a homemaker and a member of the Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved to sing in the choir and loved her “Church Family”.  She enjoyed watching Christian programs on TV, and dearly loved her grandchildren.  Retha also had two special dogs that she loved dearly: Sadie and Dottie, who passed away.

Those left to love and cherish her memory, and to mourn her loss, are her loving husband of 50 years, Teddy “Doggie” Toler; two daughters: Regina Toler of Hanover, WV, and Karen (Michael) Woods of Sandyville, WV; one son: Teddy Wade Toler of Hanover, WV; three grandsons: Austin Cline, Zackary Toler and Michael Paul Woods; two granddaughters: Karisma Toler and Megan Woods; two sisters: Barbara Lester and Belinda Varela; two brothers: Hassel Lester and Hester Newcomb; one special daughter-in-law: Ginger Toler of Simon, WV; and a special brother-in-law: Daniel, and his wife Lisa, Toler of Hanover, WV.   She also leaves behind a host of other loving family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Pads Fork Freewill Baptist Church from 12 - 1 PM for visitation.  Funeral services will commence at the church at 1 PM with Pastor Dennis Lester officiating. Burial will follow in the Toler Cemetery at Hanover, WV where she will be carried to her resting place by family and friends.

Her smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
