Reva Lee (Payne) Tolley

Reva Lee Tolley 94, of Justice, WV, formerly of Ripley, WV, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was the daughter of Theodore and Della (Coon) Payne. She was born and raised on their farm on Aplin Ridge, Jackson County, WV.

She was the last living member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death was her husband Junior A. Tolley of Ripley, WV; her parents, sisters; Jessie (Cliff) Smith, Elva (Herald Shorty) Walker, Janet (Jim) Butt, brothers; Homer Payne, Nelson Payne, and Rollin (Ivey) Payne.

Surviving, sons: Terry (Christina) Tolley of Smithers, WV; Mike (Dimple) Tolley of Justice, WV. Granddaughter; Michelle Lester of North Carolina, grandsons: David (Dawn) Tolley and their family, Drew and Ciera Tolley, Matt (Sierra) Chase, Adam Chase; Dan (Jennifer) Tolley and sons Jackson and Tucker; Jason (Scarlett) Tolley and daughter Georgia all of North Carolina. Step granddaughter Megan McCallister of West Virginia, step grandson Jason (Amy) Morton and sons Matthew and Mason of Florida, Great grandson Matt (Ashley) Tolley and sons Bentlee and Kaden of Justice, WV. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was a stay-at-home mom taking care of her family. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Thanksgiving Dinner would not be complete without her signature cranberry salad. She was a Christian of the Baptist Faith and attended local churches in Ripley, and the Justice Methodist Church in Justice, WV.  She is now reunited with her husband and other family members rejoicing in heaven.

Friends may gather with the family on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 6:00 till 9:00 PM in the Chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, Gilbert, WV.  Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday May 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM there in the Chapel with Rev. Roger Endicott officiating. Graveside services will be conducted the same day at the Parsons Cemetery, in Gay, WV at 3:00 PM.

The family would like to give thanks to the medical staff on the 5th floor of CAMC Memorial and Dignity Hospice for providing care for her in her final days.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
