Ricky Jay Hatfield, of Gilbert, WV, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 6, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on January 13, 1959, to Amos and Lucille Hatfield, Ricky lived a life guided by integrity, love, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
For 43 wonderful years, Ricky shared his life with his beloved wife, Robin Hatfield. Together, they built a foundation of love, partnership, and family. Ricky was a devoted father to Darcy Leger and Andy Hatfield and a proud grandfather to Jaxton Goins, JJ Hatfield, Everly Leger, and Pierce Leger. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
An Eagle Scout, Ricky carried a lifelong appreciation for nature and the outdoors. He found joy in skiing and took great pride in lawn care, landscaping, and gardening, turning simple spaces into places of beauty. Above all, his greatest passion was spending time with his loved ones.
Ricky’s kindness, warmth, and steadfast love brought light to all who knew him. His legacy of devotion, generosity, and joy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared.
A celebration of Ricky’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with Pastor Arville Cline officiating. Family and friends are invited to honor and remember a life so deeply loved from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
