Roby Hatfield

Roby Hatfield, 85 of Reedy, WV., formerly of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, departed this life Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his residence.

Born on August 31, 1932 at Browning Fork, he was the son of the late Kelly and Ettie (Harrison) Hatfield.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife: Emogene Hatfield; son: Roby Randall Hatfield; sisters: Martha Smith, Gracie Bryant and Maxine Cline; brother: Ralph Hatfield.

Roby was a retired coal miner, he loved hunting and working in his garden.  He was of the Baptist Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his sons: Danny Hatfield of Gilbert and Lanny Hatfield of Browning Fork; his daughters: Glenda (Verlin) Belcher of Browning Fork, Karen (Jimmy) Wilder of Harland, KY, Debbie (Jerry) Hatfield of Ripley, Delorise (Dave) Walker of Hanover; sisters: Barbara Mounts and Elma Brown, both of Browning Fork; brother: Herbert (Sue) Hatfield of Huntington; sister-in-law: Bertha Hatfield; brothers-in-law: Arnold Hatfield and Luster Bryant.  He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, May 31, 2018 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the Freedom Full Gospel Assembly House of Prayer, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Lowell Smith and Rev. Diamond Carter officiating.  Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork section of Gilbert, WV.

Roby will be carried to his final resting place by his grandsons.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
