Rodney Gerald Hatfield

Rodney Gerald Hatfield, 84 of Hanover, WV., passed from this life on Monday, December 20, 2021 at his residence.

Born December 15, 1937 at Hanover, WV., he was the son of the late Carl E. and Garnett (Sissy) Hatfield.

Rodney received his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Physical Education from Morris Harvey University, which he was very proud of. He went on to be a Teacher, a Forest Ranger, and later in life, he was self-employed at the Green Thumb Greenhouse at Hanover.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Clifford and Jimmy Hatfield.

Rodney was a member of the United Methodist Church in Justice, WV.

Rodney loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world. He loved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and everything outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Alice Janie (Shannon) Hatfield of the home. One son; Jarrod (Stacy Smith) Hatfield, of South Charleston, WV. Grandson: Hayden Hatfield; Granddaughter: Emma Hatfield, both of South Charleston, WV. Three special nieces: Donna Mollenkoph, Betsy Queen and Kim Stone. A special nephew, Gary Hatfield.

In honoring his wishes, he will be cremated.  

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
