Roger Lee Lester

Roger Lee Lester, 81 of Coal Mtn, WV departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2024 from CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV.  Born January 11, 1943 at Hanover, WV he was the son of the late William Bertie and Ardith (Browning) Lester.

In addition to his parents, Roger is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Roger enjoyed watching races, doing genealogy, history, and anything about the Civil War.  He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and attended the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church, when he was able to go.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years: Sharon (Morgan) Lester; his daughter: Chelisa Lester, both of Coal Mtn, WV; brother: Sammy Lester of Baileysville, WV; sisters: Donna (David) Thompson and Lynn Justice, all of Hanover, WV.  Roger also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives and friends, who he cared for deeply.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home, where funeral services will commence on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Michael Browning officiating.  Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny, WV.

Roger will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
