Roger Morgan

Roger Morgan, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026. He was born on June 15, 1943, in Coal Mountain, West Virginia, to the late Gussie Morgan and Hazel Marie (Carter) Morgan. Funeral services will be held in West Virginia.

Roger graduated from Baileysville High School in 1961 before relocating to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked as a lead operator for Arcadia Press until his retirement. Following retirement, he moved to Macon, Georgia, to be closer to his children.

Roger enjoyed playing billiards with his children, going bowling, spending time with his grandchildren, taking rides on the boat, and being with his family.

He is survived by his children: Pam Palmer (Greg), Melissa Dodson (Phil), Timothy Morgan (Yohar), Angela Hamilton, Christopher Morgan (Teresa), Jeremy Morgan (Michelle), and Stephanie Morgan; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Deanna West and Lana Kennada; his brother, Robert Morgan; and many dear friends.

He was predeceased in death by his parents, and three brothers Gussie (buddy) Gene Morgan, Donzal Morgan, and Rodney Dale (Smokie) Morgan.

Friends may gather with the family Friday, May 8, 2026, from 5 PM until 7 PM for visitation at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV.  Funeral Services will commence Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11 AM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert.  Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.  Roger will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
