Romeo M. Bautista, of the Spice Creek section of Verner, WV departed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in the Philippines, he was the son of the late Mamento and Paz (Mata) Bautista.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter: Lourdes Campbell; sister: Millie Bloom; brother: Eddie Bautista.
Romeo enjoyed watching western and war movies, traveling, and playing with his grandkids. He was a Veteran, with 29 years of combined service in the U.S. Army and Navy. He was of the Catholic Faith.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 37 years: Lori (Lester) Bautista of Verner, WV; daughters: Tess (John) Vaught of Lerona, WV, Celeste (Frank) Buendia of Olympia, Washington; grandchildren: Joseph (Angie) Vaught, John (Samantha) Vaught, Chelsa (Chris) Malon, Frances, Celestine, Julianne Buendia; great grandkids: John and Emily Vaught, Malaya and Miles Malon; two great great nephews that he loved as his own grandsons, who always called him “Poppy”: Chaston and Ryan Layne: brothers: Roger (Rosalinda) Mata and Doming (Cynthia) Mata. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at St. Edmunds Catholic Church of Man, WV with Rev. Fr. Biju Parampil officiating. Burial will follow in the Skyline Cemetery at Justice, WV.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
