Ronald Eugene “Ronnie Buck” Hatfield, 76, of Gilbert departed this life Wednesday May 4, 2022 at Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.
Born June 14th, 1945 at Browning Fork, he was the son of the late Ance and Helen (Elkins) Hatfield.
In addition to his parents, “Buck” is preceded in death by his infant Brother; and his best friend, Joseph “Joe” Hatfield.
Ronnie Buck loved to sing. He sang at home, at church, and anytime he got the chance. He loved his community and served in many capacities. He was president of the local 1078 UMWA union, president of the Gilbert Kiwanis Club, supervisor for the Judge’s Work Program, and President of the IMMA campground. Ronnie Buck never met a stranger. When he wasn’t camping with his family or discussing local politics, you’d find Ronnie sitting on his front porch in his recliner waiting on someone to stop by to sit and talk with him. Aside from his accomplishments and many friends, Ronnie Buck loved his family most of all and loved spending time with them.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Norma Jean (New) Hatfield; his son: Brandon (Jennifer) Hatfield; two daughters: Melissa (Richard) Kennedy and Helen (Jimmy) Dingess; five grandchildren: Justin (Tabatha) Kennedy, Josh (Katie Ellis) Dingess, Aaron Dingess, Bryce Hatfield, and Blake Stacy; and two great grandchildren: Gracie and Chance
Friends may gather with the family Saturday May 7th, 2022 from 6 – 7 PM at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV for visitation. Funeral Services will commence at 7 PM with Pastor Jonas Trent and Pastor Carl Wolford officiating. To honor his wishes, his remains will be cremated after services.
He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
