Rosemary Huffman Obituary

Rosemary Huffman, 62, of Gilbert WV left her earthly body on February 7, 2020 at Logan Regional Medical Center to walk the streets of Gold at her new permanent home in Heaven.

She was born July 12, 1957 in Ieager WV. She was the proud daughter of our Heavenly Father.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Glen Huffman and nephew Steven Ray Morgan.

Rose was the owner and florist of Lighthouse Florist for 31 years. Her business was named Lighthouse because she always said “Prayers blessed her with her business so she was naming it after Jesus”. She never failed to give God credit for blessing her hands to arrange flowers. Her love for this talent never went unnoticed. She put her heart in to each arrangement she sent out the door, she strives for perfection for each customer. She loved her customers dearly, they were considered her friends. Her talent is now spread widely throughout our small community and beyond. Her business was so much more than a job. Rose touched numerous lives, her interaction with people through the flowers shop wasn’t just a means of financial needs, it was a ministry that touched so many lives. Rose was so much more than a florist. She was a Mother, Mamaw, Sister, Aunt, Friend, Positive word, a firm believer in prayer and the crutch to our family. She was our glue.

Rose will greatly be missed by the family and friends she left behind. She is survived by daughter, Kelly Huffman (Hansford Slater).  Her daughter saw her mother as a true Angel, her Best Friend, the true definition of a Mommy. Son, David Huffman, she was his rock, and prayer every single night. Granddaughter Taylor Madison Slater “sissy” who never went a day without telling her Mamaw she was the prettiest little Mamaw in the world, she kissed her cheek and told her sweet dreams every single night. Grandson, Jacob Cole Slater “Bub”. He was her protector and defender and she truly knew that. He never missed telling her multiple times a day she was the best Mamaw in the world everyday. She was his perfect person. Brooklyn Shia Toler is biologically her Niece but God had different plans. She raised her as her own child. She was a child placed in Rose's life at the perfect time. Sisters, Diane (Larry) Huffman, Angela (Ray) Morgan, Deloris Hubler, Teresa Vance. Brothers, Bubby (Roberta) Toler, Mike Toler.

She also leaves behind a host of Nieces and Nephews whom she loved dearly. Nieces Stephanie, Angel, Billie, Stacy and Tiffany. Nephews Justin, B.J., Jay, and Kenneth. Great Nieces Kinley, Remi, Laci, Gracie, Haley, Emilee, Hailee, Nadilee, Jazlynn, Jayda, Great Nephews Zach, Xander, Xavier and Tyler.

She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Rose will be carried to her final resting place by family.

Visitation will be Thursday February 13, 6-9 at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at the chapel February 14th at 1:00pm.  She will be laid to rest with her husband at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV following the funeral.

Rose is a soul gone way to soon, but she is at peace, the feeling she always longed for. Her family will never quit missing her but they find comfort in knowing she is finally free from her earthly battles. She’s happy and dancing in that big big sky.
