Roy Lee "Buggy" Roberts

Roy Lee “Buggy” Roberts, 81 of Wharncliffe, WV departed this world and received his heavenly reward on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from his residence. Buggy was born on September 17, 1943, in Raleigh County, WV to Gracie Meadows and Delbert Roberts.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his siblings: Judy Smith, Libby Roberts, James Roberts, Billy Roberts, Cleophas Roberts, and Delmar Meadows.

He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was best known, first and foremost for His dedication to God, his unwavering kindness, and his love for being outside tinkering in his garage. He was a member of UMWA 1440 and a Mason for 50 years, he attended the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church.  His life was devoted to God and family, leaving behind a legacy of work, generosity, and benevolence.

Those left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy include his loving wife of almost 58 years, Edith Carol Roberts, their children Denna (Mike) Toler of Wharncliffe, Jo (Brian) Trent of Wharncliffe, his brothers Mark (Catherine) Roberts, Vernon (Mary) Roberts, sister Darlene (Darold) Graves, his grandchildren Kristen (Scotty) Dingess of Chapmanville, Nathaniel (Michelle) Toler of Princeton, Austin Trent of Cross Lanes, Hayley (Rodney) Cook of Baisden, and great grandchildren Ethan Dingess of Chapmanville, Phoenix Toler of Princeton, and Rayleigh Cook of Baisden. He also leaves behind a host of special friends that he loved dearly.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 12:00 till 1:00pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 1:00pm with Rev. Scotty Dingess and Pastor Denny May officiating.

In honoring Roy’s request, he will be cremated following services.

His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
