Ruth Browning

Ruth Browning, 67 of Wharncliffe, departed this life on Thursday, August 1, 2019 to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from Pikeville Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1952 at Marietta, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert Luther Patterson and Mary Evelyn Mitchell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three brothers: Bob Patterson, Eugene Mitchell and Ronnie Mitchell.

Ruth was a loving daughter, wife, sister, and friend.  She loved to sew and make fudge candy.  She was a nurse aid and was a member of the Wharncliffe Church of God.

Those left to love and cherish the memory of Ruth and to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 51 years John L. Browning of Wharncliffe; four sisters: Betty Jo Thompson of Ohio, Lottie Click of Ohio, Nora Reiner of Tennessee  and George Ann Dotterer of Tennessee; many nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Wharncliffe Church of God from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev. Ricky Endicott and Rev. Donald Robinette officiating.

Burial will follow at Browning Family Cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Mounts Funeral Home, Inc. to help with the cost of funeral expenses.  

Her beautiful smile and tender heart will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
