Serena Lynn McGuire, 52 of Browning Fork section of Gilbert, departed this life on Monday, December 20, 2021 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on April 13, 1969 in Richwood WV, she was the daughter of the late Linda (Russell) and Daniel Ward; her biological father: Bobby Pittman.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her father-in-law: Richard “Dusty” McGuire, Sr: brother: Don Ward.
Serena was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many. She enjoyed gardening, riding her side by side in the mountains, taking random road trips, and traveling. She loved to collect antiques, t-shirts of every place that she visited, and unique cups. Her greatest love in life, was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved spending time with her family and friends, she was always laughing and smiling, a big “cut up” to be around. She was affectionately known as “Reen” to her younger cousins and nieces and she loved to make them laugh and take care of them. Serena was a big part of the “We Can Camp”, she was also a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith Church.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her husband: Richard McGuire, Jr; her daughters: Carrie McGuire and Lyndsey McGuire (Andrew Bush); her granddaughters: Adalyn Grace and Remi Leightyn, all of Browning Fork; brothers: Gregory Ward of Baisden, Rev. Danny (Imogene), Jimmy and Matthew Ward, all of Wharncliffe, John Ward of Simon. She leaves behind several cousins, and a host of close friends, which are too many to name individually, with other relatives, and acquaintances.
Friends may gather with the family Monday, December 27, 2021 from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Rev. Diamond Carter and Rev. Garfield Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Carter Cemetery at Browning Fork.
Serena will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends.
Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
