Shelba Jean Strickland

Shelba Jean Strickland 75, of Gilbert, WV departed this life Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born November 7, 1947 at Brushy Fork, WV she was the daughter of the late Jesse James Walker and Lenora Cline.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son: Steve Ellis; great nephew: Travis Ray Cline; brothers: Donald Ray, Dale, and Leon Cline; sisters: Barbara Lusk, Opal Dotson, Ann Blankenship, and Nancy Scarburry; nephew: David Ray Cline.

Shelba loved to read her bible, fish, garden, and shop online, she especially loved spending time with her fur baby “Abby”.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish her memory are her husband: William H. “Bob” Strickland of Gilbert, WV; her sons: Mickey Ray Ellis of Isaban, WV, Timothy Eugene Ellis (Erica Carter) of Wharncliffe, WV, William Paul Strickland (Shay) of Gilbert, WV, Matthew Skyler (Kansas) Strickland of Gilbert, WV; daughter: Shelia Carol (Manny) Cline of War Eagle, WV; grandchildren: Christina Mounts, Billy Jack, Brandy Christian, Angel, Domonic, Conner, Maranda, and T.J Ellis, Cheyenne (Donald) Basenback, Chavez, Alex, Makiah, Bella, Laci, Skyler, Raven, and Kamdyn Strickland, Lacey New, Brittney (James) Lester, Mitchell (Michelle Ammons) Cline, Justin Cline, Angela Hatfield, and Ralphy Manuel; best friend: Lou Auville; and special friend: Garrett Lowe.  She also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, family, and other dear friends.

Friends may gather with the family Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 6:00 till 9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, WV.  Funeral services will commence there at the chapel on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jeremy Compton officiating.  Burial will follow at the Shelba Strickland Memorial Garden, Isaban, WV.

Shelba will be carried to her resting place by: Brandon Bailey, Brittney and James Lester, and Mitchell and Justin Cline.

Her wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved her.
