Steve Charles Ellis

Steve Charles Ellis, 53 of Gilbert WV, departed this life on September 22, 2022 at Peterson Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Wheeling, WV.

Born on October 2, 1968 in Man WV, he was the son of Shelby and Bob Strickland and the late Clifford Ellis.

In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Henry and Lona Ellis; and his maternal grandparents: Monroe and Lenora Cline; nephew: Eric Ellis; uncles: Larry Dale and Leon Cline; and cousin David Ray Cline.

Steve enjoyed spending his time fishing, gin singing, and anything that involved outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and kids. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his mother Shelby (Bob) Strickland; his children: Steven Connor Ellis, Angel (Jeremiah) Ellis, Dominic Ellis of Gilbert, and Brandi (Shawn) Christian and Billy (Elizabeth) Christian of Logan; brothers: Mick Ellis, Timmy (Erica) Ellis, Clifford Jr. (Robin) Ellis, Matthew (Kansas) Strickland, and Paul (Shay) Strickland; sister: Shelia (Manny) Cline; his 9 grandchildren; special friend: Jennifer Gibson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 6-9 PM with funeral services to commence at 7 PM, with the Rev. Jeremy Compton officiating. To honor Steve’s wishes his remains will be cremated following services.

Steve will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
