Teddy Carter, 85 of Horsepen, WV departed this life Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from his residence surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Born on October 6, 1937 at Justice, WV he was the son of the late Adeline (Cline) and William Estil (Pistol) Carter.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife: Blonnie (Blankenship) Carter; grandson: Terrence Carter; sister: Sandra Rommell; brother and sister-in-law: Ira C and Anna Carter.
Teddy was a proud member of Horsepen Southern Baptist Church where he enjoyed bible study on Wednesdays at 6pm the most. Teddy enjoyed many years of hunting with his son, David. He and his wife Blonnie, along with his brother Ira and sister-in-law Anna Carter enjoyed fishing on South Padre Island as winter Texans for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He made many memories near the ocean with his daughters and granddaughters, Missy, Vivian, Brittani and Whittani while shelling. He affectionately referred to Whittani as “his Pooh bear.” He enjoyed his daily calls from Kim and breakfast from Randy and Teresa. Even though he would never admit it, a trip to California last winter to visit his daughter Teresa, attend a 49ers game and visit Lake Tahoe was one of his best trips.
