Teddy Wade Toler, 48, of Hanover, WV, passed away tragically on Friday, August 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be cherished.
Born on March 31, 1977, at Welch, WV, Teddy was the cherished son of the late Retha (Lester) and Teddy Toler.
Teddy was a proud graduate of Baileysville High School. He was the beloved grandson of the late Wade and Hazel Toler of Hanover, WV, and the late Frank and Norpha England of Baileysville, WV.
Teddy, known to many as “Wade” was a devoted brother to Karen (Michael) Woods of Sandyville, WV, and Regina Toler of Hanover, WV. He was a loving father to Karisma and Zachery Toler of Justice, WV, and a proud uncle to Megan Woods of Cincinnati, OH, U.S. Army Sgt. Michael (Miriem) Woods of Fort Campbell, TN, and Austin S. Cline of Hanover, WV. He was also a great-uncle to Lillian Woods of Fort Campbell, TN, as well as a nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Those who knew Teddy will remember his kind heart and gentle spirit. Though his life ended far too soon, his love and laughter live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Friends may gather with the family Friday, August 29, 2025, in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home from 12:00 till 1:00 pm where funeral services will commence at 1:00 pm with Pastor James Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the Toler Cemetery at Hanover, WV.
Teddy will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
He was taken from this world at the age of 48, but his memory will forever remain. Rest in peace, Wade—you will always be remembered with love.
The wind held its breath,
The fields went still—
Then death came fast
As storm light on the hills.
And the earth took him softly,
The way it takes the rain,
Leaving only echoes
Where his name had remained.
Always in our hearts.
