Teresa "Terry" Diane (Carpenter) Browning

Teresa “Terry” Diane (Carpenter) Browning, 60, of Bruno, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.  Born December 21, 1964, in Fort Howard, Baltimore, Maryland, Teresa was the second oldest of her siblings and an unwavering source of warmth and strength throughout her life.

Teresa is reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents: John and Shelby (Adkins) Carpenter; her in-laws: Harry and Clarice Browning; her treasured aunt: Doris Barrett; her grandparents: Ruby and Burl Carpenter and Wade and Pearl Adkins.

Terry’s life was a tapestry of compassion, laughter, and loyalty.  She married the love of her life on October 7, 1983, and devoted herself to nurturing her family, often caring for her siblings with the same tenderness she showed to all, whether picking apples from her family’s orchard, cooking up joy inspired by her aunt Linda,  or swapping mischievous stones with  her cousin Kimmie, Teresa embraced life with a spark uniquely her own. 

She found peace in fishing, collecting chickens and beach shells, but above all, her greatest treasures were her children, grandchildren, and great granddaughter.  A proud Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Terry cheered loudly, loved fiercely, and welcomed everyone with open arms.  To know her was to be accepted wholeheartedly, unconditionally, and without hesitation.

Terry leaves behind her devoted husband of 42 years: James “Ike” Browning; her loving children: Eric (Crystal) Browning, Brandon (Brandi) Browning, Megan Browning, and Sarah Browning; eight cherished grandchildren: Jerry (Gracie) Taber, Jayden, Moore, Addilynn, Ciara, Jacob, Wyatt, Emma, and Ryan; one granddaughter: Laylani Moore, who brought her endless joy; her siblings: Ronnie (Rhonda) Andrews, Rodney Carpenter, John Jr. Carpenter, and Shelia (Carpenter) Lewis; as well as her brothers and sisters in law: Darrell (Louise) Browning, Harvey (Terry) Browning, and Betty Jo (Browning) and Dennis Walls.  She was adored by her many nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12:00 till 2:00 pm at the Bruno Church of God where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Pastor Roger Frye officiating.  Burial will follow in the Browning-Grimmett Cemetery at Bruno, WV.

Terry’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she lifted up, laughed with and loved through every season of life.  In her honor, love someone a little louder today-just as Terry always did.
