Thomas E. Dewey Walls, 75 of Verner, departed this life Monday, December 7, 2020 from his residence.
Born July 16, 1945 at Verner, he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Minnie (Browning) Walls.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers: Lennie, Doyle Grant, Albert, Leander, William Edward, and Joseph Harley Walls; sisters: Rita Jean (Walls) Fortner, Blanche Rebecca Walls, India (Walls) Justice, Dorothia A. (Walls) Cook Mitchell, Lena Walls, Fannie (Walls) Maynard Carter, Evie Walls Lester, Betty Walls, Zetta (Walls) Lester, Belva (Walls) White, Lessie Opal (Walls) Dietrich.
Dewey enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, but his greatest joy was going to church and singing. He was an honorary member of the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church; he was also a member of the U.M.W.A.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his sisters: Susie Ann Walls (John) Davis, Naomi Ruth Walls (John) Reichert, all of New York; brother: Daniel David (Tina) Walls of Oceana; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, December 12, 2020 after 6:00 pm at the Coal Mountain Freewill Baptist Church, with special service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will commence there at the church Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Roger Browning, Rev. Jackie Grimmett, Rev. Jackie Jesse, Rev. Joe Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Leatherwood Memorial Cemetery at Justice, WV.
Dewey will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
