Tommy Roy West

Tommy Roy West, 71 of Indian Creek, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from Welch Community Hospital.

Born on April 3, 1950 at Welch, he was the son of the late Katherine Pearl (Lee) And Ozzie West.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Troy and Bessie Lee; his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Gracie West; sister: Delores Ann West; brothers: Kenneth West and Timmy Lee.

Tommy loved going to church, preaching and teaching God’s word, riding his side by side with his family and friends and his dog Hercules.  He enjoyed going to family get togethers, being the family cornhole cheerleader, laughing and having a good time with his family and friends.  He was of the Jesus Name Faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife: Tereasa (Barnette) West of the home; son: Tommy Dewayne “Pooh” (Leslie) West of Delton, MI; daughter: Sherry (Steven) May of Ikes Fork; grandchildren: Benita (Jeremy) Hunt of Isaban, Pernell Ryan and Travis Lester of Roanoke, VA, Andrea (Matthew) Mitchell of Indian Creek, Zackery and Makayla Mitchell of the home, Whitney (Joe) Bishop of Welch, Tommy was more like a dad to them; sister: Syreda (Robert) Bryant of Ararat, VA; brothers: Donnie “Crocket” (Rhonda) West of Gilbert Creek, Jeffrey Allen of Davy, Walter (Karrin) West of Ikes Fork, Michael (Joey) Michelle West of Mt. Airy, NC, Anthony “Dee” (Sherry) West of Hanover; great grandchildren: Jaxon and Braxton Hunt, Bethanie and Gracelynn Mitchell, Layla, Dylan and Kelly “Little Man” Bishop; special sisters in law: Diane West and Sheila Lee.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Bro. Kenny Wray and Bro. Walter West officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden Of Rest Cemetery at Ikes Fork, WV.

Tommy will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Zachery Mitchell, Steven May, Jeremy Hunt, Joe Bishop, EJ Cline, and Josh Cline.  Honorary pallbearers are: Harold Barnette, Jr. and Dean Wimmer.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
