Toney Blankenship, 76 of Baisden, WV, departed this life on September 26, 2022 from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born September 4, 1946, Toney was the son of the John and Rethea (Cline) Blankenship.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Wilma Blankenship; and his brother: Billy Blankenship.
Toney was a disabled Coal Miner who enjoyed squirrel hunting, ginsenging, watching football and Nascar races. He loved spending time with family, especially his great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Toney (Michelle) Blankenship Jr., and Rocky Blankenship; granddaughter Nikita (Wes Smith) Blankenship; grandson: Josh (Kaitlyn Adams) Blankenship; his 5 great-grandchildren: Benson Smith, Lennox Smith, Ember Blankenship, Adalyn Blankenship, and Delani Blankenship; brothers: Homer Blankenship, Enos Blankenship, and Glenous Blankenship; sisters: Catherine Christian and Addie May, a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special companion, his dog Smoke, whom he loved very much.
Friends may gather with the family on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 6 - 9 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel at Gilbert, WV, where funeral services will commence on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 1 pm with the Pastor Jonas “Joe Peck” Trent officiating. Burial will follow at the Blankenship Cemetery at Baisden, WV.
Toney will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.
He may be gone from our sight but will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
