Troy Dwayne New

Troy Dwayne New, 41 of Baisden, WV departed this life Thursday, June 29, 2023 from UK Medical Center.

Born June 23, 1982 in Logan, WV he was the son of Troy and Ruth (Blackburn) New of Baisden, WV.

Dwayne is preceded in death by his daughter: Emily Grace New; maw maws: Emma Jean (Murphy) Blackburn and Rosetta New Profitt; paw paws: Joda Pat New and Firg Profitt; aunts: Deanna New and Elaine New; uncle: Jimmie New.

Dwayne was a coal miner, and of the Christian Faith.  He loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors with his family and friends.  He also loved to make people laugh and left many stories and memories that his friends and loved ones will talk about for years to come.  Dwayne had a big heart and would do anything to help others.  He continues to help others even now by being an organ and tissue doner.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his son: Tyler Dwayne (fiancée Ciara Laws); parents: Troy and Ruth (Blackburn) New, all of Baisden, WV; brother: Robert “Little Joe: (Josie) New of Gilbert, WV; 2 special nieces: Cadence Sophia New and his “little sidekick” Brooklyn Jade New; paw paw: Sambo Blackburn of Baisden, WV; aunts: Pricilla (Benji) Cline and Michelle (John) Jude, all of Baisden, WV, Lillie (Walter) Hatfield of Hampden, WV, and Charlene Hankins of Greenville, TN; uncles: Bob (Carissa) Blackburn of Lake, WV, Joe Dale New, Bobby (Nancy) New, and Teddy New, all of Baisden, WV; special friend: Herbie Ellis of Baisden, WV.  Dwayne also leaves behind a host of special cousins and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel where funeral services will commence at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jonas Trent, Rev. Ralph Manuel, and Rev. Marvin Joe Bradford officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Family Cemetery at Baisden, WV.

Dwayne will be carried to his resting place by his family and friends.  Honorary pallbearer: Herbie Ellis.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
