Walter Robert Grimmett, Sr

Walter Robert Grimmett, Sr , 68 of Tamcliffe, departed this life Monday, August 30, 2021 from Bland County Nursing and Rehab Center, Bastian, VA.

Born January 16, 1953 at Verner, he was the son of the late Alfred and Nida (Walls) Grimmett.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Bertha (Brumfield) Grimmett; sisters: Vicie (Sissy) Boone, Rispie (Rip) Phillips, Bessie (Parker) Grimmett, and Betty Earnest; infant brothers: Alfred Jr., and Ronald Ray Grimmett.

Walter attended the Tamcliffe Tabernacle Church, where he loved to worship with his church family.  He loved to study the Bible and share his knowledge of the word with others.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his 3 sons: Hunter Grimmett of the home, Walter (Bobby) Grimmett, Jr of the home, Brian Grimmett of North Carolina, and their mother: Lucille Benson of Nitro; sisters: Janice Hendricks of Riverview, Virginia (Hunkie) Walls of Gilbert Creek, Kay (Lloyd) Mullins of Tamcliffe, Sheena (Richard) Sydnor of Oakhill; granddaughter: Candace Grimmett of Oceana; 2 great grandsons: Abel and Axel Lamb of Nitro.  He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

To honor his request, his remains have been cremated.

He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
