Wanda Jean (Thomas) Bentley

Wanda Jean Bentley, 71 of Gilbert, WV departed this life Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.

Born July 28, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Ruth (Blankenship) Thomas.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was also preceded in death by her daughter: Shawn Bentley; brothers: Elmer Sutters and Charles Thomas; sisters: Bonnie Richards and Gloria Poe.

Those left to love and cherish Wanda’s memory are her daughters: Melissa Bentley and Ruby (Joshua) Hewitt; grandchildren: Michael and Christopher Wiley, Terri (Carson) McKinney, Rebecca Bentley, Malanie Clay, Chloe, Pippi, Shephard, and Alise Lewis; great grandchildren: Skye Eckert, Kairi Bowens, Shawn Bowens, Andres Slatzar, and Remi Bentley; brothers: Larry (Tammy) Thomas, and Robert (Michelle) Thomas; special thanks to her nephew: Joshua Thomas for the love and care that he gave her.  She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 6:00 till 9:00 pm in the chapel of Mounts Funeral Home where funeral services will commence at 7:00 pm with Rev. Gary Browning officiating.

Per Wanda’s request, she will be cremated, and her remains will be placed at the Thomas Memorial Cemetery in the Slabtown section of Gilbert, WV,

She may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
