Wesley Eugene Mitchem, 29 of Southpoint, Ohio, departed this life on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Born on February 15, 1997, in South Williamson, KY, he was the son of Eugene Mitchem and the late Melissa Ann Hinkle.
In addition to his mother, Wesley is preceded in death by his grandmother: Teresa Lynn Mitchem; his special uncles: Allen Hinkle and Dewayne Hinkle.
Wesley was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed working at his job as a welder, he loved lifting weights, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to love and cherish his memory are his father: Eugene Mitchem; grandparents: Thurman (Wilma) Hinkle; grandmother: Rose Hinkle; his sister: Chelsey (Micah) Turner of Georgetown, KY; his special brothers: Anthony Hinkle, Jacob Hinkle, and Thurman Dewayne Hinkle, Jr., all of Wharncliffe, WV, Kevin Hinkle of TN, James (Kaitlyn) Hinkle of Pigeon Creek, WV, Gregory Wolford of Charleston, WV; aunts: Janet Berry and Sally Hinkle, both of Wharncliffe, WV; nieces: Kami June Turner and Maisy Lou Turner, both of Georgetown, KY. He also leaves behind a host of other dear family and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church at Wharncliffe, WV from 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. for the family, 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m. for the public, and funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Denny May officiating. Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Wharncliffe, WV.
Wesley will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: James, Anthony, Kevin, Gregory, and Thurman Hinkle, Jr., Micha Turner and Daniel Pope.
His wonderful smile and gentle heart will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have known and loved him.
