Willard D. Carter, 70 of Hillsboro, Ohio, departed this life Friday, November 6, 2020 from Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio.
Born on March 26, 1950 at Wharncliffe, he was the son of the late Ted and Maudie (Patrick) Carter.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife: Tyna Sue Carter; sister: Ernestine (Carter) New.
Willard enjoyed fishing, and hunting, but his greatest love was attending church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired Coal Miner, and of the Pentecostal Faith.
Those left to love and cherish his memory and to mourn his loss are his brothers: Harold (Millie) Carter, Lannie Carter, Glen Carter, all of Hillsboro, Ohio; Gary Carter of Hampden, WV, Earl (Martha) Carter, and Carlos Carter, all of North Carolina. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
Friends may gather with the family Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Denny May officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Hampden, WV.
Military services will be provided by the D.A.V. Chapter # 141, Belfry Ky.
Willard will be carried to his resting place by pallbearers: Freddie, Josh and Jay Grimmett, Ted and Terry Carter, Franklin New. Honorary pallbearers are his brothers.
He may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
