Kenneth Hatfield

Kenneth Hatfield, 63 of Coal Mountain, departed this life on Monday, January 11, 2010, at Welch Emergency Hospital.

Born at Coal Mountain on September 1, 1946, he was the son of Venie Browning Hatfield and the late Wayne Hatfield.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, Carl, Rondal, and Louie Dean Hatfield.

Kenneth was a loving son, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a disabled coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are: his four daughters: Freda Blankenship and Amy (Wendell “JR”) Hatfield, both of Coal Mountain, Vanessa Blankenship of Webster Springs, and Becky (Billy) Weese of Buckhannon; his mother, Venie Browning Hatfield of Coal Mountain; his five wonderful grandsons: Tom, Kenneth, John, Alex, and William; his five precious granddaughters: Tiffany, Kareina, Courtney, Latachia, and Alexis; his three precious great grandchildren: Emily, Jacob, and Summer; his brother, James (Linda) Hatfield of Oceana; his best friend, whom he loved like a brother, John Hanshaw of Pineville; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church at Coal Mountain on Wednesday, January 13th after 6:00 pm.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 14th at the Big Cub Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy White and Rev. Ravin Kenneda officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hatfield Cemetery at Coal Mountian.

He will be carried to his final resting place by family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are: Freddie West, Hershal Hatfield, and Junior Staton.
