A sweet and loving child of God, Lillian Lester, 87 of Hanover, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, from Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 14, 1924 at Leatherwood, she was the daughter of the late Compton and Laura Brook Runyon Browning.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Lester; four brothers: Landon, Leonard, Alden, and Clarence “Junior” Browning; her four sisters: Edith Cline, Emmalene Browning, Lake Justice, and Gracie Morgan.
Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a mother to many and a friend to all. She loved working in her vegetable garden and with her flowers, and she loved animals. She loved taking care of and doing for others. She would welcome you into her home and she made sure that you did not go away hungry. She was a homemaker and attended the Justice Tabernacle Church. She had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her passing include her two sons: James Edward (Wilma) Lester of Baisden and Teddy (Shelia) Lester of Hanover; her two daughters: Teresa (Tim) Hannah of Charlton Heights and Beverley McDonald of Plymouth Indiana; her ten grandchildren: Michelle (Denny) Toler, Amanda (Dave) Copley, Jamie (Amy) Lester, Teddy “Kojak” (Melissa) Lester, Stephanie (Terry Paul) Browning, Scotty Lester, Tracy Hannah, Lacy Brooke McDonald, Charles Ivan McDonald, and Seth McDonald; her ten great-grandchildren: Taylor, Alexis, Ashley, Casey, Dalton, Kyle, Katlyn, Chandler, Kody, and John; her brother, James A. Browning of Sophia; and a host of other dear family and friends.
A special thank you to Teddy and his family.
