Lydia Goodman, 68, of Lorado, departed this life on Friday, September 26, 2008, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan.
Born on February 5, 1940, at Bruno, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ross and Effie (Hatfield) Grimmett.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her loving husband, Raybob Goodman; a brother, Ross "Buddy" Grimmett; three sisters: Allie Fowler, Jane Rosenberry, and Lottie Goodman.
Lydia was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist Faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to love and cherish the memory of Lydia are: her two sons: Thurman (Debbie, whom she loved as her own daughter) Goodman and Bobby "Bobcat" Goodman, both of Lorado; her very special step-daughter, Phyllis Goodman of Man; her grandchildren: Amanda Goodman, Ricky David Goodman, Ricky James Ray Goodman, and Rebecca Williamson; her sister, Mabel Fobert of Lorado; her three brothers: Russell (Tiny) Grimmett and Earnest (Beverly) Grimmett, both of Lorado, and Kenny (Annette) Grimmett of Bruno; her very special friend, Georgia Dean; her special niece, Kay Goodman (who she loved as a daughter); a special nephew, "Hunky" Goodman; and a host of other dear family members and friends.
Friends called at the Saunders Memorial Freewill Baptist Church at Lorado on Monday, September 29th from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 30th at the Saunders Memorial Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Massey and the Rev. Bill Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby Heights, Pecks Mill.
Nephews, family and friends served as pallbearers.
